LYNK & CO RELEASES ITS SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2023 HIGHLIGHTING CAR SHARING, RENEWABLE ENERGY AND TARGETS NET ZERO BY 2040
In its third sustainability report, Lynk & Co International highlights the company's progress in environmental responsibility and outlines the path ahead towards achieving net-zero emissions.
Lynk & Co's latest sustainability report reveals a forward-looking plan that encapsulates the brand's commitment to a greener future. The report presents a series of objectives and milestones aimed at achieving net zero emissions by 2040, a goal set forth in the company's previous report. This ambitious target is just one component of Lynk & Co’s comprehensive strategy, which encompasses everything from gender diversity to climate-neutral manufacturing. It reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability across all aspects of the operation.
Car sharing has always been a strategic focus for Lynk & Co as a way of lowering its carbon footprint. In 2023, the numbers indicate a significant breakthrough, with completed car-sharing sessions surging by an impressive 208% compared to the previous year. Lynk & Co's car-sharing platform offers users access to high-quality mobility solutions without the obligation of vehicle ownership, while providing lenders the chance to earn financial benefits and contributing to optimizing overall car usage.
At Lynk & Co, we're committed to making sustainable transportation accessible to everyone. Our car-sharing platform plays a critical role in that vision. It's a simple way for people to use cars more efficiently, particularly those that are idle most of the time. As we move forward, this platform will remain central to our efforts to promote greener choicesNicolas López Appelgren, CEO of Lynk & Co.
To change mobility forever and provide solutions for a connected generation, sustainability must be a core focus. In 2023, Lynk & Co made headway with the full launch of its car-sharing platform, conducted the first Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the Lynk & Co 01, and continued using 100% renewable electricity across manufacturing facilities, clubs, and offices. By 2030, the goal is for all cars to be produced using 50% sustainable materials, adopting climate-neutral manufacturing practices, and achieving a 50% lower car life cycle CO2 footprint. These combined efforts highlight Lynk & Co's holistic approach to sustainability and its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
