Starting in Spring 2021, a brand-new mobility solution will hit the streets of Europe, as the Lynk & Co 01 car is finally here. We invite journalists to join us for “Carpool Interviews”, the world’s first virtual test drive experience, using a multi-camera set up to put you in the car with a Lynk & Co guide.
For the last 100 years, car companies have been inviting journalists to one of the most hallowed events in the automotive industry: the test drive. But, with COVID rapidly changing the way we live, Lynk & Co has taken on the challenge of revolutionizing the test drive to be more sustainable, responsible, and accessible.
We first unveiled the 01 in September 2020, along with our innovative mobility membership. Since then, we have begun accepting members, pre-selling cars, and opened our first two Lynk & Co Clubs in Amsterdam and Gothenburg.
As the first cars arrive, our members (and soon to be members!) will have the opportunity to test drive the car for themselves. So, what should they expect? In short: a car that is designed to make their everyday lives better.
The 01 was designed to be deeply customer-centric… even when that means being a bit unconventional. It comes in one standard configuration (no add-ons, no negotiating for features) that includes, well, everything.
Every single 01 will come with: A panoramic sunroof, metallic paint, power-operated tailgate, branded premium stereo, navigation system, sharing functionality, digital key, in-car apps, adaptive cruise control, wireless phone charging, etc. etc.
In fact, the only decisions that members will have to make are what color of 01 they want (black or blue) and which hybrid engine they want (hybrid electric or plug-in hybrid electric).
The most unique thing about the 01 has nothing to do with powertrains or features—it’s the way customers will get the car in the first place!
Our mobility membership offers a completely new way of car ownership. You can sign up for a month-to-month membership (that you can cancel at any moment - but why would you want to?) that gives you access to your own personal car for €500 per month. Of course, it’s also possible to simply buy our 01. Either way, you can easily share with family, friends, and the Lynk & Co community as well. You decide.
Membership isn’t just about flexibility, though. Lynk & Co memberships aim to make the journey totally hassle-free. Membership includes insurance, maintenance, and 24/7 support. We’ll even pick up the car, take it to the workshop, and drop it off again so that our members never need to take time out of their lives for maintenance.
Beyond mobility, members will also get exclusive offers, perks, and invites to events at Lynk & Co’s Clubs. There are currently Clubs in Amsterdam and Gothenburg, with more locations planned to open around Europe.
